19th century origins - 21st century learning
Allenstown State School is easily recognised and known for its history. The architecture of our main building makes it a well recognised icon. Ask people what makes Allenstown unique and more often they will tell you… “its history”.
While we are proud of and respect our school’s history we have a very clear challenge to provide an education for young people that live and will work in the 21st century.
Our core purpose is to significantly enhance children’s lives now and into their future through education. Our ambition for this new generation is to:
- nurture talents
- build character
- promote leadership
- develop relationships
- grow intellect
- foster citizenship.
It is a significant challenge as our world is very different now to what it was just 15 years ago and so too, this generation of children are different. Our ambition is to be a school that is known for leading 21st century learning. Our definition of 21st century learning is based on:
- a new generation
- environment and experience
- learning design
- future essentials
- relationships and community
- student voice.
